Your labs are normal.
You're not.
And there is a specific reason why.

The Tri-Shift Protocol — a clinical framework for the gut-hormone pattern driving what your practitioners keep calling unexplained.

"I'd spent two years being told my labs were fine. Within the first two weeks inside the Circle I understood exactly what my pattern was and why everything I'd tried hadn't worked. That shift alone was worth it."

— Lania

The problem

You've done the work.

You've tried the protocols. Read the books. Removed the foods. Added the supplements. Cleaned up the sleep. And things shifted — for a while. Then they didn't hold.

The fatigue came back. The weight didn't move the way it should. The 3am wake-up returned. The bloating that responds to nothing is still there.

And every practitioner you've seen has told you your labs are normal.

This isn't a compliance problem. It isn't a willpower problem. And it is not random.

There is a specific physiological mechanism driving what you're experiencing — and it's different for every woman depending on her gut-hormone pattern. The reason the protocols haven't held is not that they were wrong. It's that they weren't built for your pattern, in the correct sequence.

That's what changes here.

Why what you've tried hasn't held

What's actually happening — and why the sequence changes everything

During perimenopause, declining estrogen and progesterone remove the biological buffers that modulated your cortisol response for decades. Overnight cortisol rises by an average of 25% — not because your life got harder, but because the protection disappeared. This is documented in 17 years of SWAN study data. It is not subjective. It is physiological.

When cortisol is chronically elevated at this level:

  • The nervous system can't complete its downregulation cycle. Sleep disrupts. Recovery slows. The practices that used to regulate you stop holding.
  • Circadian and ultradian rhythms governing hormone secretion, metabolic timing, and sleep architecture shift — independently of lifestyle or behavior.
  • Nutrient absorption and gut-hormone signaling are compromised in ways specific to which pattern you're running. Cortisol-Wired responds differently than Insulin-Inflamed. Estrobolome-Disrupted is a different clinical picture from Thyroid-Slowed.

This is why sequence matters.

The Tri-Shift Method addresses three axes — in a specific order.

Nervous System Rhythm Nourishment

The nervous system axis is addressed first because the HPA axis governs how the body processes every subsequent intervention. A rhythm protocol applied to an unregulated HPA axis will produce partial results. A nourishment protocol applied before rhythm is stabilized will be processed by a system still operating under dysregulated hormonal conditions.

Most perimenopause protocols address one axis. Or address all three simultaneously, without regard to sequence. This is the most common reason women stall despite doing everything right.

The Tri-Shift Method is built around the sequence. That is what makes it different from everything you have already tried.

The Tri-Shift Protocol

What the Tri-Shift Protocol Is

The Tri-Shift Protocol is the clinical framework behind the Tri-Shift Method — delivered as four self-paced lessons inside the Nourish & Flow Circle.

It covers all three axes in sequence: Nervous System → Rhythm → Nourishment. Each lesson gives you the clinical what and why of each axis, then delivers a dedicated protocol card for each of the five gut-hormone archetypes — built for your pattern specifically, not a general perimenopause recommendation.

The fourth lesson is a complete preview of the Done With You Protocol Build — the 8-week 1:1 program where these three axes are applied to your specific body, sequence, and history.

This is the how. Applied to your pattern.

What's inside

The 4 Lessons

Lesson 1 of 4

The Tri-Shift Method: Nervous System Axis

The nervous system axis is always addressed first. Not because the other two don't matter — because until the HPA axis stabilizes, every intervention in Rhythm and Nourishment is processed by a system still in dysregulation. Correct interventions in the wrong order produce limited or no results. This is the most common reason women stall despite doing everything right.

In this lesson you'll understand what HPA axis dysregulation actually means physiologically — and why it is distinct from "being stressed." Why estrogen withdrawal changes the architecture of your cortisol response independently of circumstance. The specific nervous system presentation for each of the five archetypes, including the patterns most commonly missed, misattributed to anxiety, or addressed with interventions that inadvertently worsen the underlying mechanism. Why the practices that used to regulate your nervous system have a lower ceiling now — and what changes when the baseline shifts.

Your archetype card maps your specific HPA signature, the interventions that align with your pattern, and the common approaches that stall or reverse progress for women running your particular combination.
Lesson 2 of 4

The Tri-Shift Method: Rhythm Axis

The cortisol arc and the circadian clock are not separate systems. The way cortisol rises in the morning and declines through the day is both a product of nervous system tone and a direct regulator of hormone secretion, metabolic timing, and sleep architecture. When the arc shifts — which it does in perimenopause, independently of behavior — everything downstream shifts with it.

This is why consistent sleep hygiene produces inconsistent results. The architecture changed. The behaviors haven't caught up to the new biology.

In this lesson you'll understand the clinical difference between circadian disruption and sleep hygiene issues — and why treating one as the other extends the problem. How the rhythm axis affects each of the five archetypes differently. The metabolic timing consequences specific to the Insulin-Inflamed archetype — and why conventional low-carb recommendations frequently worsen this pattern. What rhythm repair actually requires at each stage of HPA stabilization, and how to sequence it correctly.

Your archetype card maps your specific circadian signature, the rhythm interventions aligned to your pattern, and the approaches most likely to produce a plateau or reversal for your archetype.
Lesson 3 of 4

The Tri-Shift Method: Nourishment Axis

Nourishment in the Tri-Shift context is not general healthy eating. It is the targeted functional nutrition that supports the gut-hormone connection specific to your archetype — timed and structured to work with the nervous system and rhythm interventions already in place.

The sequence matters because nutritional interventions applied before the nervous system is regulated are processed by a dysregulated HPA axis. The absorption, signaling, and hormonal response are all operating under altered conditions. This is why the same nutritional protocol produces dramatically different outcomes in two women with different patterns.

In this lesson you'll understand the gut-hormone feedback loop and why it operates differently across the five archetypes. Why the Estrobolome-Disrupted pattern requires a different nourishment sequence than the Cortisol-Wired pattern — and how confusing them is one of the most common clinical errors in perimenopause nutrition. The specific mechanisms by which chronic cortisol disrupts nutrient absorption, gut barrier integrity, and microbiome diversity — and what changes first when they're addressed correctly.

Your archetype card maps your specific nourishment requirements, the foods and nutritional patterns that support your gut-hormone connection, and the common interventions that produce initial improvement followed by plateau for your pattern.
Lesson 4 of 4

Inside the Done With You Protocol Build

This lesson is a genuine preview of what the 8-week 1:1 Protocol Build looks and feels like. One archetype is walked through the full build process in real time — from the intake assessment to the sequence mapping to the protocol architecture across all three Tri-Shift axes. You'll see exactly how the framework in Lessons 1, 2, and 3 becomes a personalized 90-day protocol when applied to a specific clinical picture.

Your archetype card shows you what the Protocol Build process looks like for your specific pattern — what the intake session surfaces, how the sequence is mapped, and what the first 30 days of a correctly sequenced protocol typically produces. This is the lesson that makes the decision about the Protocol Build a clinical one, not a financial one.

Your archetype card

What your protocol card gives you in each lesson

Every lesson ends with five archetype-specific protocol cards — one per gut-hormone pattern. Your card maps your specific mechanism within that axis, the interventions aligned to your pattern, the common approaches to avoid for your archetype, and a one-sentence protocol anchor.

Cortisol-Wired

Nervous system stuck in high-alert. Cortisol is dysregulating progesterone and disrupting sleep architecture. Classic signs: wired but tired, weight gain at the midsection, racing thoughts at night.

Thyroid-Slowed

Declining estrogen suppressing T3 conversion. Metabolism, mood, and energy running slower than they should. Classic signs: cold intolerance, hair thinning, fatigue that sleep doesn't fix.

Insulin-Inflamed

Blood sugar dysregulation driving systemic inflammation and disrupting hormone signaling. Classic signs: energy crashes after meals, cravings that don't respond to willpower, afternoon brain fog.

Estrobolome-Disrupted

Gut microbiome's ability to regulate estrogen production, use, and elimination is compromised. Classic signs: bloating alongside hormone symptoms, weight that doesn't respond, brain fog, symptoms that don't fit one clear pattern.

Estrogen-Stuck

The body is struggling to clear spent estrogen via the gut-hormone axis. Classic signs: heavy or irregular cycles, bloating, breast tenderness, mood shifts tied to cycle timing.

These are educational frameworks for nutritional awareness, not medical diagnoses. The Tri-Shift Protocol is not a substitute for personalized medical care.

Is this right for you?

Who this is for — and who it is not

This is for you if:

  • You have identified your gut-hormone archetype and want to understand the specific protocol architecture built for your pattern
  • You have tried perimenopause protocols before, hit a plateau, and want to understand — clinically — why, before trying something else
  • You want the framework: not a supplement stack, not a meal plan, not a 30-day reset, but the clinical structure behind why certain interventions work in certain sequences for certain patterns
  • You are considering the Done With You Protocol Build and want to understand what the 8-week program is built on before you apply
  • You learn best when you understand the mechanism, not just the instruction

This is not for you if:

  • You are looking for a ready-made supplement protocol or meal plan to follow without understanding the underlying framework
  • You have not yet identified your gut-hormone archetype — take the free quiz first, then come back
  • You are in an acute medical situation that requires clinical supervision — this program is educational and is not a substitute for medical care

About Miriam

Miriam Faggett, MS, CNS

Clinical Nutritionist  ·  Founder, Nourish & Flow Circle  ·  Creator of the Tri-Shift Method

Miriam is a clinical nutritionist with 20 years of practice in gut-hormone health. She created the Tri-Shift Method after identifying a consistent pattern in perimenopausal women: the right interventions, applied in the wrong sequence, produced limited and often temporary results. The framework addresses all three axes of the gut-hormone system — Nervous System, Rhythm, Nourishment — in the sequence the body requires for results to hold.

She is the founder of Nourish & Flow Circle, a clinical community for women 40+ navigating the perimenopause transition. Her work is grounded in peer-reviewed research including 17 years of SWAN study data, 2025 Frontiers in Endocrinology, 2024 Nutrients, and 2025 npj Biofilms and Microbiomes.

A featured guest on the Perimenopause Reset podcast, she begins her doctorate in Fall 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Questions

How long does it take to complete the lessons?

Each lesson is designed to be completed in 20–30 minutes. Most women work through all four lessons over one to two weeks, then return to their archetype cards as they implement. There is no deadline. Access doesn't expire.

Do I need to know my archetype before purchasing?

Knowing your archetype makes every lesson significantly more useful — because the protocol cards are specific to your pattern. The free 4-minute quiz identifies your pattern before you begin. If you've already taken it, you're ready.

Is this general perimenopause information, or is it specific to my pattern?

Every lesson ends with five archetype-specific protocol cards — one for each gut-hormone pattern. The clinical framework in each lesson applies to all women in perimenopause, but your protocol card is built for your archetype specifically. This is not general wellness information.

I've already tried nervous system protocols and they stopped working. Is this different?

Yes — and Lesson 1 specifically addresses why this happens. The short answer: the biological environment those practices operate inside has changed with estrogen withdrawal. The practices haven't stopped working. The baseline they're working against has shifted. Lesson 1 covers what changes when you account for that shift, and what the Nervous System axis protocol looks like for each archetype given a dysregulated HPA baseline.

What's the difference between the Tri-Shift Protocol and the Done With You Protocol Build?

The Tri-Shift Protocol gives you the framework — the clinical structure behind the Tri-Shift Method applied to your archetype. The Protocol Build is the 8-week 1:1 program where Miriam applies that framework directly to your specific body, history, lab picture, and clinical presentation. Lesson 4 of the Tri-Shift Protocol shows you exactly what that process looks like.

Is this a course, a community, or a coaching program?

The Tri-Shift Protocol is a self-paced lesson series inside the Nourish & Flow Circle community. Purchase gives you immediate access to all four lessons and ongoing membership in the Circle — including weekly live Wind-Down Wednesday sessions, the monthly Ask Miriam Q&A, and Pattern Spotlight community threads. It is not a coaching program. If you're looking for 1:1 support, that is the Done With You Protocol Build.

Inside Nourish & Flow Circle, is this the same as Path 3?

Yes. Inside the Circle's classroom, the Tri-Shift Protocol is the third stage of a three-part learning path: Path 1 (Orientation), Path 2 (Pattern), Path 3 (Protocol). If you're joining for the first time from outside the community, you are purchasing Path 3 directly — the most advanced stage of the curriculum. You will also have access to Paths 1 and 2 as free content inside the Circle once you join.
